I like to listen.

Consider me in the middle of the studio system and the comparatively fluid Southeast Asian style of making films and telling stories. I grew up as a writer and director in the independent film space, but also trained as a script consultant at HBO Asia (2019-2021), Village Roadshow Australia (2017) and Giraffe Pictures (2014-2018). I’ve worked as and with filmmakers across mediums such as short films, features and television, and across genres including arthouse, rom-coms, horror and comedies.

Today my work in Momo Film Co, part of Beach House Pictures and Fremantle, leads me to work with filmmakers across Asia, the U.S., the U.K. and Europe. My approach is always to bridge a creator’s sensibilities over what they wish to express, with how it can be communicated with the audience they want to reach.

I increasingly act as a bridge between Asian and Western producers and executives. Filmmaking is an exercise in human perspective, and so I always begin by asking questions and listening.

Development can sometimes be a confusing and lonely experience for writers, especially if they’ve put a part of their soul into the work. And hopefully they have. I always aim to be a helpful voice.

Previous script development and mentorship clients include:

Ngee Ann Polytechnic, LaSalle College of the Arts, NTU ADM, Purin Short Film Camp, NYFA Story Lab

What People Are Saying

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
